Kenya Trip
How would you like to be a hero? Really! In Kenya there are numerous AIDS children (orphans and kids who have the disease) who have been abandoned by parents and relatives. Without help, they die on the streets, or even at the hands of their own relatives who can’t stand the shame in their family. Yet, you can be a hero to these children! Yes, without ever getting a passport and without applying for a visa. You don’t have to get all those painful shots! How can this be?
You can send someone to be your hands and feet! Many would like to go, but can’t, but by sending help, you are the hero! Your prayer support and financial help is what Christ Jesus is looking for in helping another. (Mt. 25:31-44) You have the opportunity to literally save lives.
I have had a huge blessing occur. I’ve been praying for the last few years to join the Kenya Short-term Missions team, and the opportunity has arisen! Some members of the team unfortunately had to drop out, and I was eligible to join the Nov. 3 to 26th team!
What will we be doing there? Our team is supporting Christian Ministries in Africa (CMIA)*, a place that harbors AIDS orphans and victims. Our team will be teaching CPR and first aid to the academy’s teachers, creating a library for the school, doing maintenance on existing buildings, teaching, and working with the new “plant” churches.
As well, I have the opportunity to present the Gospel my ventriloquist talents! This is so exciting, as most of the people in Kenya have never seen a ventriloquist. I have found that ventriloquism is one of the most effective and powerful tools for sharing the Gospel, and I have an opportunity to use my talents for spreading Christ Jesus’ love!
Can you be a hero? Have you felt the calling on your heart? God calls many. Will you be one who hears and responds? Will you be the one to send the hands and the feet of Christ to another land to share His love? Would you please pray for this exciting endeavor? (Ephesians 6:10 through 18, emphasis on verse 18!) Prayer is the most important thing for this trip. I could really use your prayer support! And, if you can join me in financial support, you can make a tax-deductible donation to CMIA on my behalf. Please make sure that my name is not on the check you send, but is on the envelope (see the address below), to keep the donation tax-deductible. Thank you, so very much!
In Christ Jesus,
Chet Dickenson

Hey all!
Some of you out there have asked where you can send a little something for the Kenya mission trip. Man, do I ever appreciate it! Here is the address:
CMIA
16541 Redmond Way PMB 514-C
Redmond, WA 98052
Just remember to put "Chet Dickenson" on the back of the envelope, NOT on the check. This way you get a tax deductable donation receipt!
If you need to check out CMIA, and I hope you do, here is there link:

They are a marvelous organization doing great things for Christ Jesus and for the AIDS kids in Kenya. Check them out. Even if you are not inclined to send something for this trip (and that is just fine) please do consider sending something to CMIA!
God bless you all! Mightily!
Chet

The Countdown Begins!
Hello in Cyberland!
Well, only 53 days to go. We leave Nov. 6 and are gone until Nov. 26.
Still short on the funds, so PLEASE, be in PRAYER! I am thanking God for His grace to send me, but it takes you, too! (Matthew 18: 19-20.)
Please continue to pray. I know that God is using this as an opportunity to show His great love. Great things are going to happen in Kenya for Christ Jesus. Great things!
How do I know? Satan has been attacking me and the family like crazy. He is on the ropes, and his time is limited. Jesus Christ has won the war! (Romans 8.) Ok! Yet, it still all takes us to do our part (Eph. 6: 18).
Well, I still have some shots to get, money to raise, prayer partners to raise, clothes to get, and more swahili to learn. (Jambu, bwana, mama, & bibi! Habari! Zuri gana, asante!)
Thank you, all, for joining me in this venture!
Kwa heri!

Hey team!
Well, I haven't updated you all on Kenya in a while, so I thought I better.
At this writing, I have $1,873.11 to go! The deadline has been moved twice, praise God! A lot of money has come in during that time.
I have to praise God for supplying it all! How, you ask? Mark 11: 12-14, John 14: 13-14, 15: 7-8, and Phil. 4: 6! Granted, I haven't seen every cent in yet, and the deadline is Monday before Pastor Greg goes to the bank. In all the trips he has done, he has never had to leave someone behind due to lack of funds. I'm not going to be the first. I've been willing to work for it, and only a brief job came in.
Yet, praise God for all the learning I've gained through it all! I can't wait to hear how it comes in. Many have given faithfully, and sacrificially, and blessed me beyond what I can put into words. (Some of you are on this prayer chain!) So, rejoice with me that God will provide, and please continue to pray.
Thank you!

Update and Praise! New Information
Praise God! For this is the day that the LORD has made!
Christ Jesus is so good to us. I know; He provides for me and takes care of me, even when I am not doing so well and have doubts and fears.
What is prompting all this? He is still providing miracles to get me to Kenya! Many folks have stepped in as prayer partners and more have helped with generous gifts. As a result, I am definitely going!
My role there will be to deliver a few sermons to the local churches, teach the kids in the school and orphanages using ventriloquism, and assist the teachers. Plus, I'm there to help work on any maintenance tasks with the "handy-man" team. Please pray I would get out of God's way and let Him use me to speak His words!
Again, I really need prayer partners; folks who will pray with me and for me and for the Kenya team. If you are willing to be a prayer partner, please post a comment here. I'd really appreciate it. Prayer is the key! (John 14: 13-14; Phil. 4:6-7)
Things have changed in where donations are sent. So, if you are still thinking about sending a gift (which I greatly appreciate, yet prayer is really key), please note the following.
Make your checks or money orders to "Central Christian Church" and put "Chet Dickenson" in the memo area in the lower left corner. This is important! Checks to "Central Christian Church" and "Chet Dickenson" in the memo area. (I'm accountable for this! So, I appreciate your assistance very much!) Send the contributions to:
Central Christian Church
126 Cedar Avenue
Snohomish, WA 98290
attn: Chet Dickenson
Thank you all so very much! Again, if you are going to partner with me in prayer, please leave a comment! That will help a ton!
In Christ Jesus, 'cuz He's so very great!
Bwana Chet
Jambo! Harbari!
Praise God, can you feel the excitement! God has answered our prayers and we are on our way to reaching and teaching the people of Kenya! (Though, I highly suspect that they will teach me far more than I will teach them!)
If you are one of those that "came over" from the MySpace blog, thank you! I appreciate you all so very much! I have been enjoying hearing from you all and you are on my prayer list.
Check out the team blog site:
http://adventuresinkenya.blogspot.com/
It has some really cool pictures and we'll be posting to the blog as we are over there. Check out the giraffe!!!
Ok, please continue to pray! Satan is attacking the team in various ways. But, we are battling back! He cannot win.
God bless you all! Thanks for joining me on this exciting adventure!
Kwa Heri,
Bwana Chet
