Jambo! Harbari! Bwana asifiwe!
We are back in the United States and we all arrived safely home. Yet, some of us had a scare in the Nairobi airport. I sat for over an hour after the fifth (yes, FIVE) security check! It was no more than 100 feet away from the last security check through a hallway that no one could break into! They didn't like my insulin and syringes. They asked me serveral times if I could check it! No way! I might need it while in flight. So, I sat until their supervisor could check it out.
After the hour wait, and several of our team going back and forth past me with grave concerns, the supervisor arrived. He opened the case, looked at me, closed the case, and said, "Have a nice flight!" It all took less than one minute. Phew! I had pictures of a Kenyan prison racing through my mind, and Pastor Joseph (Church on the Rock, Langata) coming out to preach! Pastor Joseph is the Prisoners For Christ representative in Kenya. (See pfcom.org.)
The other person who was stopped was Michael Hartman. Evidently, they didn't like his Masai warrior club! Everyone else with on passed on! Ha! His ordeal was considerably less time consuming than mine.
It has been requested that I put my "daily" journal on this blog. I will do so, first after I finish it up! Then, after my surgery (Thursday, Nov. 30.) So, team members, it is coming! Just put yourself back on Kenya time! (Also, team, feel free to link your sites to the blog if you like, or to my main site www.chetdickenson.com where I have a link.) Don't expect it all to be put up here at once! I have a lot of writing and typing to do!
Ok, let the adventure continue! See you online!
